It’s time for one of Downtown Spokane’s biggest community events—Night Out Against Crime—and it’s paired with Kids Safety Day! This fun-filled Tuesday transforms Wall Street and Spokane Falls Blvd into a hub of safety education, games, and community connection. Families can meet local heroes from the Spokane Police, Downtown Ambassadors, and Park Rangers, while kids learn life-saving safety tips in exciting ways.

Stranger Danger & Kids’ Public Safety Tips:

  • Teach kids to avoid giving personal info to strangers.
  • If approached in an unsafe way, yell for help and run to a trusted adult.
  • Stay in groups, avoid secluded places, and stay within set play boundaries.
  • Know which adults downtown—like police, Ambassadors, and Rangers—are safe to approach.

Playground & Community Safety Tips:

  • Always supervise young children, especially in busy areas.
  • Teach respectful play, proper use of equipment, and hydration habits.
  • Share safety scenarios with kids to prepare them without fear.
