If she has a distinct trademark\, it would be ‘eclectic’ ~ Cherylee abhors waste and therefore get excited about reusing and upcycling as much as possible\, to emulate nature’s delight in each piece.  \nWhen she crochets rugs from all recycled fabrics Cherylee saves bits and pieces for use in mixed media paintings. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Washington State University with a focus on relief printmaking. Her practice grows naturally out of her time spent in the wilderness of the Alaskan coast\, where she has had many encounters with the numerous animal inhabitants of the region. Her recent work explores themes of memory\, loss\, and familial connections through symbolic animal imagery. Madeline actively showcases her work at galleries\, fairs\, and artist markets throughout the Inland / Pacific Northwest and Alaska.

The evening will feature six very special pieces from the past ten years highlighting past collaborations with local choreographers\, composers\, and musicians. The evening will also feature the premiere of two new works including a new piece choreographed by Jess Berto\, Artistic Director of Andiamo Dance in Ketchikan\, Alaska. \nThis concert will also be the directorial swan song for Artistic Director Lexie Powell. Since stepping into the role in 2023\, Lexie has led the company through a time of great growth and change. With clarity of vision and a focus on collaboration\, she has created new opportunities for company artists as well as welcoming guest artists from within Spokane’s growing dance community and beyond. Please join us as we thank Lexie for all she has given to the Vytal community and welcome incoming Interim Artistic Director Mandy Scheffler!
