SUMMARY:In April the Liberty Gallery presents "Resilience: The Power of Joy"
DESCRIPTION:From small fleeting moments to a conscientious way of life\, Joy is the thread that holds our lives together. More than just the silver lining we see on the edge of clouds\, joy helps us find meaning\, purpose\, and the courage to take the next step. \nInterpretations of Joy are represented in different forms of printmaking\, such as intaglio and relief printing\, from linoleum\, wood carving\, and letterpress printing by members of the Spokane Print & Publishing Center. \nYou can view the show this April in the Liberty Gallery (above Aunties Bookstore) ~ stop by on First Friday April 3rd from 5-8pm to meet the artists!

SUMMARY:What's on the other side: Works by JJ Harty
DESCRIPTION:We exist in a moment of over-stimulation and information saturation\, a moment where a short descriptive paragraph can create a beautiful\, sparkling image for us\, but then be quickly forgotten and dissolved back into the ether of the internet. This work is a playful way to make commentary on the serious questions about AI art. Using very simple pre-programmed vacuuming/mopping robots with some minimal modifications I wrangle the robots to produce something visually interesting. The catch is\, just like AI\, these robots cannot do it on their own. They need input and a lot of help from a person to make the art.

SUMMARY:Squalor
DESCRIPTION:A Bryan Harnetiaux Original Play.\nLate in life\, a popular and prolific mystery writer finds himself unable to write a word. For reasons he can’t fully explain\, he returns to his hometown where he strikes up a relationship with a local high school teacher\, a Young-Adult novelist in her own right. As their connection develops and they reflect on the events of their lives\, we learn with these characters that living life while making art is no simple undertaking\, and that mystery can play a larger role in an informed\, meaningful life than we might have imagined. \nApril 24 – May 10\, 2026

SUMMARY:Spokane Symphony Masterworks 8: Verdi Requiem
DESCRIPTION:Guiseppe Verdi’s monumental Requiem is an epic and deeply moving work written in honor of Italian writer Alessandro Manzoni. This choral masterpiece merges operatic intensity with sacred reverence\, exploring the full range of human emotion—from fear and sorrow to hope and transcendence.
