SUMMARY:Benjamin Heiken Artist Talk at D2 gallery
DESCRIPTION:Please join us on Friday\, May 29th\, at 6:00\, for an Artist Talk by Benjamin Heiken at D2 Gallery. Spokane-based artist Heiken will discuss the work in his exhibit “A Rattletrap Sailboat” and take questions from the crowd. Heiken’s abstract work is complex\, messy\, intuitive and thought provoking\, and this will be a rare opportunity to hear and meet an artist who typically exhibits his work with galleries in New York\, London and Los Angeles.

SUMMARY:What's on the other side: Works by JJ Harty
DESCRIPTION:We exist in a moment of over-stimulation and information saturation\, a moment where a short descriptive paragraph can create a beautiful\, sparkling image for us\, but then be quickly forgotten and dissolved back into the ether of the internet. This work is a playful way to make commentary on the serious questions about AI art. Using very simple pre-programmed vacuuming/mopping robots with some minimal modifications I wrangle the robots to produce something visually interesting. The catch is\, just like AI\, these robots cannot do it on their own. They need input and a lot of help from a person to make the art.

SUMMARY:UNTAMED\, Works by MEG Goolie
DESCRIPTION:Madeline Eileen Goolie\, known as MEG\, is an Alaskan-born printmaking and multimedia artist. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Washington State University with a focus on relief printmaking. Her practice grows naturally out of her time spent in the wilderness of the Alaskan coast\, where she has had many encounters with the numerous animal inhabitants of the region. Her recent work explores themes of memory\, loss\, and familial connections through symbolic animal imagery. Madeline actively showcases her work at galleries\, fairs\, and artist markets throughout the Inland / Pacific Northwest and Alaska.

SUMMARY:"The Table is Set" at Terrain Gallery
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Terrain Gallery for ‘The Table Is Set’\, a unique art show by Liv Hebert Watkins\, honoring the everyday people\, objects\, and rituals in life. The central aspect of this concept is the dinner table– a space where individuals gather and interact as a whole; despite differences in background\, culture\, language or family ties. There is beauty in the simple act of gathering\, sharing a warm drink\, eating food\, and sitting together. Combining iconographic halos with commonplace faces and objects\, Liv explores the beauty and divinity of the ordinary.

SUMMARY:Garrison Keillor Brings A Prairie Home Companion "America the Beautiful Tour"
DESCRIPTION:The only full cast show to come to the Inland N.W.\, Garrison Keillor will bring A Prairie Home Companion’s “America the Beautiful Tour” to the Fox Theater in Spokane on May 30\, 2026\, delivering an evening of stories\, sweet harmony with Heather Masse and Christine DiGiallonardo\, SFX man Fred Newman\, Rich Dworsky and the band\, The News from Lake Wobegon\, an audience chorale\, and more.\nThis is a great country. It gave the world Broadway\, rhythm & blues\, lyric poetry about ordinary people\, and humor — America without humor is unthinkable. It’s the land where talent beats privilege and the crowd cheers for the underdog\, so let’s get our chins up and sing about the beauty of the land and the rainbow our people were looking for\, the rivers they crossed\, their high hopes for their kids. Enough about despair\, let’s take a night at The Fox Theater in Spokane to have a great time with Garrison Keillor\, Heather Masse\, Christine DiGiallonardo\, Fred Newman\, Rich Dworsky and the Guy’s All-Star Shoe Band.
