SUMMARY:What's on the other side: Works by JJ Harty
DESCRIPTION:We exist in a moment of over-stimulation and information saturation\, a moment where a short descriptive paragraph can create a beautiful\, sparkling image for us\, but then be quickly forgotten and dissolved back into the ether of the internet. This work is a playful way to make commentary on the serious questions about AI art. Using very simple pre-programmed vacuuming/mopping robots with some minimal modifications I wrangle the robots to produce something visually interesting. The catch is\, just like AI\, these robots cannot do it on their own. They need input and a lot of help from a person to make the art.

SUMMARY:"The Table is Set" at Terrain Gallery
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Terrain Gallery for ‘The Table Is Set’\, a unique art show by Liv Hebert Watkins\, honoring the everyday people\, objects\, and rituals in life. The central aspect of this concept is the dinner table– a space where individuals gather and interact as a whole; despite differences in background\, culture\, language or family ties. There is beauty in the simple act of gathering\, sharing a warm drink\, eating food\, and sitting together. Combining iconographic halos with commonplace faces and objects\, Liv explores the beauty and divinity of the ordinary.

SUMMARY:The Beauty of What Remains
DESCRIPTION:A gathering for those navigating Mother’s Day without their mom. Join us for community\, optional portraits\, and space to simply be. \nThe Beauty of What Remains \nHara Allison Photography and Martha Domitrovich of The Supper Club are co-hosting this event. \nThis year marks the 40th anniversary of Hara Allison losing her mom – the 40th year she’s experienced a motherless Mother’s Day. \nTo honor her memory\, Hara and Martha are hosting a gathering for those navigating this holiday without their mom\, whether she has passed away or is simply absent. \nHara’s studio will be open to gather\, share food\, and simply be with others who understand. No need to pretend. No need to explain. \nFor those who would like one\, Hara is offering a complimentary simple portrait: just you and a chair. A few photos taken and later shared digitally. \nIf you’d like to bring a memento\, something that reminds you of her\, that’s cool. But you can also just show up\, be with women who understand and be photographed or not. \nYou are welcome to simply come and be held by the presence of other women who understand. \nSunday\, May 3\n4-7pm\nHara Allison Photography\n421 W Riverside Ave\nSuite 702 \nBecause of space limitations\, this is available to the first 25 to RSVP. A $6.50 non-refundable fee is required to hold your space and help offset food costs. \nhttps://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-beauty-of-what-remains-tickets-1984135571907

SUMMARY:Mexican Staples
DESCRIPTION:Frijoles are the building blocks for almost every Mexican meal\, but cooking them from scratch may seem intimidating.

SUMMARY:UNTAMED\, Works by MEG Goolie
DESCRIPTION:Madeline Eileen Goolie\, known as MEG\, is an Alaskan-born printmaking and multimedia artist. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Washington State University with a focus on relief printmaking. Her practice grows naturally out of her time spent in the wilderness of the Alaskan coast\, where she has had many encounters with the numerous animal inhabitants of the region. Her recent work explores themes of memory\, loss\, and familial connections through symbolic animal imagery. Madeline actively showcases her work at galleries\, fairs\, and artist markets throughout the Inland / Pacific Northwest and Alaska.
