SUMMARY:Photographic works by Keegan Baatz
DESCRIPTION:The work combines photography\, embroidery\, and slight collage tendencies to explore the intersections of infrastructure\, memory\, and identity – particularly the idea of connection in both physical and conceptual terms. Rooted in images of power lines and rural landscapes across the American West\, my practice transforms photographic documentation through processes of layering\, stitching\, and erasure. These gestures act as forms of disruption and repair\, reconfiguring the image as a tactile site where fragility and resilience coexist. This exhibition envisions the power grid and hinterland as both literal and metaphorical systems of connection. These structures sustain communities while reflecting the invisible social and emotional frameworks that bind people to place. Through them\, I consider how memory\, perception\, and belonging are mediated by the systems\, both human and nonhuman\, that surround us.\nInformed by systems theory and object-oriented ontology\, my practice examines how nonhuman networks – like power lines and rural spaces – reveal unseen forces of connection and dependency. Each work becomes both an image and an infrastructure: a conduit for exploring how power moves through us\, how we maintain and repair what connects us\, and how photography can serve as a space for reflection\, disruption\, and renewal.

SUMMARY:"Symbiosis: The Living Language of the Inland Northwest" at Terrain Gallery
DESCRIPTION:“Symbiosis: The Living Language of the Inland Northwest” brings together three artists exploring the deep interconnections between humans and the natural world.\nLauren Adams’ large scale drawings of native conifers honor the monumental presence and intricate details of the region’s forests. Tricia Kleinot’s Fruiting Bodies reveals the unseen networks of fungi and lichen that sustain life beneath the surface. Joanna Shippam’s paintings celebrate the natural world through abstract representation\, often mixing natural pigments with manmade mediums to highlight our connection to our environment. \nTogether\, their works invite viewers to see the Inland Northwest as a living system where every root\, spore\, and grain of soil speaks the language of balance\, reciprocity\, and wonder. \nSHOW HOURS:\nJan 2nd – Opening Reception: 5:00PM – 8:00PM\nJan 3rd\, 8th\, 9th\, 10th\, 15th\, 16th\, 17th\, 22nd\, 23rd\, 24th\, 29th\, 30th\, Jan 31st – 4:00PM – 7:00PM

SUMMARY:Emma
DESCRIPTION:Forward\, onward\, and upward!\nEmma Woodhouse is clever\, wealthy\, and believes she knows best when it comes to love—especially when it’s other people’s love lives. Her latest scheme involves the sweet Harriet Smith\, whom she advises to reject a perfectly good marriage proposal in favor of another eligible bachelor. As Emma meddles in affairs of the heart\, she begins to realize that love—and life—are far more complicated than she imagined\, especially when it comes to her own feelings for the steadfast Mr. Knightley. \nA fast-paced comedy filled with flirtation\, misunderstandings\, witty banter\, and plenty of surprises\, this fresh new stage adaptation interprets Jane Austen’s classic with delightfully original flair. \nJanuary 23 – February 8\, 2026

SUMMARY:Liberty Gallery presents "From Stardust" – Dreamscapes of the Universe by Kelsea Rothaus
DESCRIPTION:Kelsea Rothaus is a self-taught artist based in Spokane. Her work explores themes of the human condition and the interconnectedness of the universe. Using primarily ink and water to embrace both unpredictability and permanence\, each creation is shaped into a moment in time\, with quiet tension between light and dark.\nKelsea’s latest body of work looks outward to the stars and universe while reflecting on what it means to be human. Using her own style of ink wash\, she embraces a process that is fluid yet permanent. Each mark is final\, and echoes the irreversible nature of lived experience. These dreamscapes are subtly embellished with detail\, inviting you to slow down and look closer at the art or into yourself. \nStop by the Liberty Gallery located in the Historic Liberty Building from Jan 25th to Feb 28th… stop by First Friday on Feb 6th to meet Kelsea in person!

SUMMARY:Briscoe\, Wells Ferrari
DESCRIPTION:If Briscoe’s debut album was a coming-of-age soundtrack set against the backdrop of the Texas Hill Country\, then its follow-up\, Heat of July\, is the sound of a fully-formed duo chasing down a broader horizon. Inspired by marriage\, landscapes\, and the cross-country tours that took the band across America\, these new songs were written on the road\, as eclectic and evocative as the terrain that unfolded just outside the van’s windshield. Once again\, Briscoe teamed up with Grammy-nominated producer Brad Cook to bring the songs to life\, collaboratively creating a record that expands Briscoe’s folk-rock sound in all directions. There are bigger arrangements\, sharper vocal harmonies\, and enough top-tier guest musicians — including members of Houndmouth\, Hiss Golden Messenger\, Bon Iver\, Mipso\, and Watchhouse — to form their own supergroup. The result is a cinematic\, widescreen version of American roots music\, created by two lifelong friends who’ve learned to distill the thrill of the open road — and the challenges of growing up — into an ever-evolving soundtrack.
