SUMMARY:Sally Graves Machlis and Delphine Keim - TRAVERSING
DESCRIPTION:The City of Spokane Arts Commission is pleased to present Traversing\, an exhibition by Idaho artists Sally Graves Machlis and Delphine Keim at the Chase Gallery in Spokane City Hall. The exhibition will be on view September 4 – October 30\, 2026\, with a free public opening reception on September 4th from 5:00-8:00 pm. \nPainter\, Sally Graves Machlis\, and graphic designer\, Delphine Keim\, combine their sensibilities within their mixed media work. Visitors will have an opportunity to meet Machlis and Keim and learn more about the stories and processes behind their collaborative work. DESCRIPTION:This Oct the Liberty Gallery presents “People\, Places and Things”\, artwork created by sisters Judy Klier & Marcia McDonald. Judy and Marcia have been painting together for several years ~ they encourage\, inspire\, and critique each other’s work. \nFor this show Judy has created a series of portraits that is called Women in the Window\, that celebrates and encourages the extraordinary strength\, wisdom\, and potential that women possess. \nMarcia’s paintings are inspired by Nature. She explores the play of light and dark\, warm colors against cool\, intense next to muted\, and hard edges relating to soft edges; all effects that express the beauty of the scene and cause the eye to move around the painting. \nStop by the gallery in the Liberty Building this October to see their work ~ come by First Friday on Oct 2nd from 5-8pm to meet the artists!

SUMMARY:Critical Infrastructure at Terrain Gallery
DESCRIPTION:Museum and gallery directors\, nonprofit arts organization founders\, art teachers\, and other local arts advocates have made a life of showcasing the art of others\, while their own work is rarely seen. This exhibition challenges its participants to make new work\, providing space to honor the creative talents that led them to these careers. It also highlights the breadth of our regional arts ecosystem\, offering a chance to meet and connect with the stewards of our growing arts community. Prepare to experience a range of works in clay\, mixed media sculpture\, painting\, printmaking\, photography and more. Each participant’s work is united in the theme that they don’t make art to make a living\, yet they are immersed in art and with artists every day\, which is a unique perspective. \nOrganized by long time artist\, arts educator and journalist Carrie Scozzaro\, Critical Infrastructure includes the work of Ali Blackwood (Inlander)\, Ali Shute (Coeur d’Alene Arts & Culture Alliance – retired)\, Ann Saberi (Jordan Schnitzer Museum WSU)\, Brooke Shelman Wagner\, (Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture)\, Chelsea Cordova (artist; co-founder\, Front Room Gallery and co-manager\, Marmot Art Space)\, Eva Silverstone (The Hive / Spokane Public Libraries)\, Jeni Riplinger (founder of Emerge)\, Jennifer LaRue (manager\, Kolva-Sullivan Gallery)\, John Fullmer (Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture)\, Katie Patterson Larson (founder\, Art Salvage)\, Kelly Baker (KB Consulting; co-founder\, Front Room Gallery and co-manager\, Marmot Art Space)\, Kelsey Cook (Spokane International Academy)\, Kristin Becker (Jordan Schnitzer Museum WSU)\, Megan Cherry (Moscow Public Arts)\, Rob Worstell (Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture) and Shawn Gunnier (Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture). \nIn addition to its opening night\, which coincides with First Friday\, Critical Infrastructure is scheduled to run through October 31st and will be open FREE to the public every Thursday\, Friday and Saturday from 4pm – 7pm at 628 N Monroe St\, Spokane\, WA 99201.

SUMMARY:Thunderstruck: A Classic Rock Tribute
DESCRIPTION:“The Music of Queen\, AC/DC\, Led Zeppelin & More” From ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ to ‘Free Bird’ — an unforgettable night of strings and light. \nAn Immersive Candlelit Journey Through Iconic Rock Anthems\n“Rock and roll meets classical music in a gorgeously crafted hour of music.” \nStep into a world of shimmering light\, where legendary rock anthems are reborn through a single violin — played with the fire and intensity of a full band. \nThis is not just a tribute show. This is Blue Violin — a genre-defying\, conservatory-trained virtuoso who has sold out venues from the Sydney Opera House to Carnegie Hall\, and now brings his world tour to Australia\, Europe\, Asia\, and across the U.S. \nOften described as “Ed Sheeran meets Lindsey Stirling\,” Blue Violin delivers fiery virtuosity and cinematic flair in every performance. \nBlue Violin has been earning international accolades for genre-bending performances that blur the line between classical virtuosity and rock energy with appearances alongside artists including John Mayer and Paul McCartney.
