Spokane Arts is excited to present Figure, an exhibit of figurative photographs, paintings, and drawings by regional artists, online and in-person this summer! Figure features a diverse collection of contemporary photographs, paintings, and drawings exploring the human form by regional artists. The group show includes Spokane-based artists Hannah Charlton, Janelle Cordero, Sally Jablonski, Posie Kalin, Kayleigh Lang, and Egor Shokoladov, as well as work from Idaho-based artists Lindsey Johnson and Meagan Marsh Pine.
The Chase Gallery, located inside Spokane’s City Hall, has been closed to the public for the past year due to public health restrictions and the exhibit will be available to view online at Spokanearts.org/chase-gallery June 1 through July 30. When City Hall re-opens to the public in July, the show will be viewable in-person while City Hall is open for visitors.
Figure, which includes the work of several queer artists, is one of six exhibitions featured in the 2021 Spokane Queer Art Walk, a city-wide event spotlighting LGBTQ+ artists. In celebration of Pride Month, the free, self-guided tour launches on First Friday June 4, 2021 along with Spokane’s regularly scheduled First Friday festivities.
