On October 6th this new series of abstract work will open at Helix Tasting Room in downtown Spokane. 100% of sales for the show will be donated to Transitions Spokane working to end poverty for women and children.

Our artist Leela Francis was inspired by her visit to Oaxaca city earlier this year. In 2020 Francis and longtime best friend and outdoor adventure partner had originally planned to take this trip together. However, when Covid hit, and her friend was diagnosed with advanced stage lung cancer, the trip was awash. 2 years since the loss of her dear friend, Francis finally re-found the passion to live the adventure for them both. After returning to Spokane, the impressions of magical Oaxaca city, rich in history, texture, pattern and political art, found its way into her studio.
