It’s First Friday time!
And we’re bringing back an old favorite that you haven’t seen in years.
First Friday is one of the best things about Spokane. We hope you get out and see a bunch of different First Friday shows.
There are all kinds of venues showing all kinds of artists.
There’s a place for every taste and skill level.
If you’re looking for some stunning art from award-winning professionals, then Marmot is the place for you!
We are super excited to bring back the art of Frank Munns!
Frank ran Whitman College’s Donald H. Sheehan Gallery for years. He bounced back and forth from San Francisco – where he was exposed to cutting edge art for decades – to Walla Walla – where he was born and raised and helped to run the family farm business while doing important things like helping to found the Walla Walla Frenchtown Historical Association.
Frank earned his MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and was able to use his connections to bring giants of the art world like Diane Arbus, Judy Chicago, and Wayne Thiebaud to Eastern Washington. He exhibited at one of the finest galleries in the Pacific Northwest – the University of Washington’s Henry Art Gallery – as well as various San Francisco spaces. He is an Artist Trust grant winner.
This just in: Daniel Forbes will be present. Forbes, longtime director of the Sheehan Gallery at Whitman College (now ex director and current art professor at Whitman College and Walla Walla Community College) knew Frank well.
Price-wise, this is one of our most accessible shows all year. Nothing will be cheap – we don’t sell cheap art – but it will be much more accessible than many of our other shows.
We’re so excited to show him again right here in Spokane.
Check out these new pieces – new to you – this First Friday, June 6th, 5-8pm, at Marmot Art Space in Kendall Yards. Doors open at 5 pm!
