From the 1600s, when the first colonists brought apples from Europe, up through the early 1900s, an estimated 17,000 named varieties of apples were cultivated in North America. Most of those apples are lost and possibly extinct today. This is an account of rare and heritage apples in the Inland Northwest that still survive. Come on down to Auntie’s between 3pm and 5pm to chat with David about apples and get your copy of “Lost Apples” signed! Or just come for the presentation at 5pm (he’ll be signing more books afterwards). This event is free and open to the public.
