Nora grew up along the Columbia River in Coulee Dam. She is drawn to the rolling hills (“coulees”) and the pastels of the sagebrush and sand. . There is a peacefulness that she tries to capture. She does not try to describe everything in detail, but rather let the viewer form his or her own conclusion. Oil is her preferred medium. She travels to that area often to try to depict something that catches her eye or invokes emotion.
