Peer Seattle is excited to announce that we have expanded our services to Eastern Washington and selected Spokane as our first expansion site. Our services will be provided under the name Peer Spokane. Our Grand Opening for Peer Spokane will be held September 19, 2019, at 425 West 1st Avenue, from 4:30-6:30 pm. We hope that you will come out to celebrate with us!
A little bit about us…
Peer Spokane envisions a space where peers come together in support and personal development through the ever-evolving components of community informed programming. We have designed our new space in downtown Spokane to do just that with room to grow our staff and services to suit the needs of the Spokane recovery community.
We are an organization led by and for peers. Our premise is simple; community-based peers with lived experience addressing the challenges of addiction, mental health and/or chronic illness understand and support one another in a way that no one else can. Together we break the bonds of isolation by building community, exhibiting hope for reaching our unlimited potential, building person-centered recovery, challenging the myths laid upon us by social stigma, and maintaining our personal recovery by giving support back to one another. We serve all persons seeking recovery or in recovery who abide by our principles of safety and inclusion for all people (veterans, persons of color, men/women/non-binary, LGBTQ individuals, etc.)
A bit of gratitude…
Peer Seattle and Peer Spokane owe a great deal of gratitude to our funders for their continued support of our peer model including the Washington Health Care Authority – Department of Behavioral Health and Recovery, Premera Blue Cross, the Spokane Downtown Partnership, Amerigroup, Mark Peterson KXLY, and many of our new community partners.
On behalf of the board of directors and staff, thank you for welcoming us to Eastern Washington. We hope that you are as excited as we are for this next chapter in our organization’s 35-year history. More than that, we hope you are ready to partner with us to build a better community together.
