It’s First Friday time!
First Friday is one of the best things about Spokane. Period. We hope you get out and see a bunch of different First Friday shows! There are all kinds of venues showing all kinds of artists.
There’s a place for every taste and skill level. We hope that you’re able to get out there and experience the huge variety of skill levels and experience levels in Spokane. Several of our artists are museum quality artists. That’s the best of the best (of the best). If you’re looking for stunning art from award-winning professional artists, then Marmot is the place for you!
We are super excited to bring back Bend, Oregon artist Shelli Walters. We’ve featured her a few times over the years. She’s been tremendously popular here in Spokane.
“Nothing lifts my spirits like being in Nature. It is where I feel most alive and connected to my soul. It fuels my creativity and provides endless inspiration for my art. I invite you to take a deep breath. Steal a moment for yourself. Take an art walk with me as the rhythms of Nature unfold on canvas. And, with each step, feel your spirit lighten”.
Bend is currently experiencing a boom. Lots of folks are building their second homes there and they need to fill them with amazing local art from the best local artists. Bend is a hot market right now and Shelli is a hot artist, so we especially appreciate her taking time to bring her art (and herself) up here to Spokane.
Of course Shelli wouldn’t say that about herself. But we will!
“My art flows out of moments when I have been tapped into the magic and beauty of Nature. These memories and experiences re-imagine themselves on canvas to share a feeling of joy, freedom and peace. Layers of acrylic paint and collage reflect layers of life, and give the fragmented details that spin in memory a place to rest.”
Check out Shelli’s feature article in the September edition of Spokane Coeur d’Alene Living magazine for more information about her career and life experiences.
We will be showing over a dozen new pieces. Many of them are smaller pieces, so that work will be more affordable. First Friday will be an excellent opportunity to see new work as well as an excellent opportunity to meet Shelli.
Just a reminder, when someone visits from out of town it’s different than when someone visits our gallery who lives here. First Friday will be the one and only opportunity to meet Shelli. We highly suggest that you take advantage of this unique opportunity.
Shelli is wonderful! Come say, “Hi!” to her this First Friday at Marmot Art Space. Doors open at 5 PM!
