SUMMARY:Decade: Celebrating 10 Years of VMD
DESCRIPTION:We hope you will join us for Decade\, an eclectic performance which simultaneously honors the past and anticipates the future. \nThis season marks the tenth season of Vytal Movement Dance. The evening will feature six very special pieces from the past ten years highlighting past collaborations with local choreographers\, composers\, and musicians. The evening will also feature the premiere of two new works including a new piece choreographed by Jess Berto\, Artistic Director of Andiamo Dance in Ketchikan\, Alaska. \nThis concert will also be the directorial swan song for Artistic Director Lexie Powell. SUMMARY:Risograph Residency - Not Perfectly Aligned\, Risograph Prints by Ting Wang-Hedges
DESCRIPTION:Ting Wang\, an award-winning designer\, and Associate Professor of Graphic Design at Oklahoma State University\, is our current risograph residency artist. Born in Chengdu\, China\, with early training in traditional ink painting and calligraphy\, Wang brings a deeply personal\, cross-cultural perspective to her visual practice. Her work fuses ancient analog traditions with contemporary technology\, often utilizing programming languages like Processing to creatively reinterpret the shape and form of typography. During her residency\, Wang will continue her exploration of type and visual storytelling\, using the print medium to challenge social rhetoric\, confront historical stigmas\, and amplify the contemporary experiences of female immigrants in America.
