DESCRIPTION:This May\, D2 Gallery is extremely proud to present the artwork of Spokane artist Benjamin Heiken in his new exhibit “A Rattletrap Sailboat”. Heiken’s brutal use of collage and haphazard brushstrokes in his paintings evokes a sort of violence\, which mirrors his personal struggle to reveal subconscious feelings about his existential place in the world. This abstract work is complex\, messy\, intuitive and thought provoking\, and this will be a stellar local exhibit by an artist who typically exhibits his work in New York\, London and Los Angeles. First Friday Opening Reception is on May 1st\, from 5 to 8\, and “A Rattletrap Sailboat” shows through the end of the month.
