Who to call

If you are in a situation requiring immediate assistance from police officers, firefighters or an ambulance, call 911.

If you witness any non-emergency criminal activity, call the Crime Check Hotline at 509.456.2233, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Or, submit an online crime report here

If you observe criminal activity after-the-fact, report it to Crime Check. Simply registering criminal activity with Crime Check helps Police develop long-term plans for allocating limited resources where needed most.

Call the downtown Ambassadors at 509.353.9111. Ambassadors assist with many needs, including employee/customer escorts to parked cars, any type of street disturbances, jumpstarting stalled vehicles, or other urgent situations.

  • Ambassadors are at your service Sunday–Thursday, 8am–6pm, and Friday–Saturday, 8am–7pm.
  • Ambassadors also provide visitor directions as Certified Tourism Ambassadors.
  • Their valuable services ensure safe and friendly on-street activity, improving the quality of life.

  • You can submit an online graffiti report at myspokane311.my.site.com/citizen/s/ or call 3-1-1.

988 is the national hotline for people experiencing mental health crises. This number connects people experiencing suicidal thoughts, severe depression, or anxiety with trained counselors who provide immediate support and can connect callers with local resources.

311 is the number to call for non-emergency city services and general city information. This includes reporting illegal camping, potholes, graffiti, streetlight outages, abandoned vehicles, or other municipal issues. 311 can also be dialed for help paying utility bills, finding information on pools and recreational activities, as well as any other customer service-related questions.

211 connects callers to a wide range of social services and community resources. This can include assistance with housing, food, employment, mental health services, and more. This is a valuable resource for those in need of support or information d local and community services.

The Union Gospel Mission Inland Northwest offers a Men’s Recovery program that supplies dorm shelters, fitness center, classrooms, chapel services, kitchens, private rooms, a dining hall, counseling, education and a medical clinic.

Within the community of the Men’s Shelter, Men’s Recovery participants move toward complete life change through biblical counseling, classwork, group therapy, job training, education and work requirements.

Hope House offers an environment of dignity, respect and compassion that honors the intrinsic value and unique experience of every woman. Thirty-four shelter beds are available each night. Each woman receives personal care including: nutritious food a hot shower clean, dry clothing hygiene items a warm bed onsite case management resource information referrals to community resources.

The Crisis Shelter for Women and Children exists to provide a safe, healthy, short-term refuge for women and children in crisis. The Shelter strives to keep as many women and children off the streets as possible and admits guests until it reaches full capacity.

When families experiencing homelessness have no where else to go, they are welcome at Open Doors Emergency Family Shelter. Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, Open Doors provides shelter, case-management, food, laundry, showers and a way home for families experiencing homelessness.
