Downtown Spokane is bursting with color as Lilac Lane makes its debut along Main Avenue between Washington and Stevens Streets. Launching just in time for Bloomsday and the Lilac Festival, this vibrant new installation honors Spokane’s identity as the Lilac City.

The concept was developed by the Downtown Spokane Partnership (DSP) and made possible through façade improvement funding provided by BECU. Volunteers from Aldrich Financial Advisors helped bring the displays to life under the guidance of Mike Moore, float designer for the Spokane Lilac Festival Association. The lilac-themed decorations will be on display throughout the month of May, offering a colorful tribute to Spokane’s signature flower while adding a fresh, seasonal charm to one of downtown’s most traveled corridors.

“We’re excited to try something new in the heart of downtown,” said Elisabeth Hooker, Vice President of Marketing and Programming for the DSP. “Eventually, we hope to grow this spring celebration and extend Lilac Lane all the way down Main Avenue.”

With the support of RenCorp Realty, eight businesses have joined the effort: Locust Cider, Jazz Salon, Wanderlust Delicato, Wiley’s Downtown Bistro, Revival Tea Company, Durkin’s, Madeleine’s, and Buffalo Exchange.
