Downtown Spokane Partnership Invites Community to Roll Up Their Sleeves for Fall Clean Week

Five-day volunteer effort will focus on sidewalks, alleys, planters, and green spaces

Spokane, WASH. (October 1, 2026)- The Downtown Spokane Partnership (DSP) is inviting community members, downtown workers, and visitors to roll up their sleeves and help keep downtown Spokane looking its best during the second annual Fall Clean Week, October 12–16, 2026.

The weeklong initiative celebrates civic pride and encourages the community to come together to care for downtown’s “Front Porch” as Spokane heads into a busy fall season filled with events, activities and visitors. Throughout the week, volunteers will work alongside city crews and downtown partners to spruce up public spaces and tackle projects ranging from sidewalk sweeping and leaf cleanup to preparing planters and green spaces for the changing seasons.

“Downtown belongs to all of us, and Fall Clean Week is a great opportunity to show our pride in the heart of our city,” says Elisabeth Hooker, DSP Vice President of Marketing & Activation. “A clean, cared-for downtown creates a more welcoming experience for the people who live, work, visit and invest here. We’re excited to get out, get our hands dirty and make a visible difference together.”

Fall Clean Week Schedule
Each day features a different focus area:

Monday, October 12 – Sidewalk Sweep Day

Volunteer crews will meet daily at 11 a.m. at 818 W Riverside before heading out to tackle the day’s projects. Participants are encouraged to come ready to work, get dirty and help make downtown Spokane a cleaner, more welcoming place. Fall Clean Week is part of DSP’s ongoing commitment to maintaining a clean, safe and vibrant downtown.

The DSPs Clean Ambassadors are on the streets seven days a week collecting garbage, removing graffiti, shoveling snow and maintaining downtown’s green spaces and public sidewalks—but community participation adds another important layer of care and civic pride. Community members interested in participating in Fall Clean Week are encouraged to join DSP at 11 a.m. each day.
