It’s First Friday time!

First Friday is one of the best things about Spokane. We hope you get out and see a bunch of different First Friday shows.

There are all kinds of venues showing all kinds of artists.

There’s a place for every taste and skill level.

If you’re looking for some stunning art from award-winning professional artists then Marmot is the place for you!

This First Friday we’ll do something you’ve probably never seen. We’ll celebrate a couple of Art Collectors!

Have you ever met one? The can be pretty awesome, especially Marmot fans.

Meet Angie and Chris. They’ve got a very contemporary art collection. Learn about it. Get to know them. Grrreat couple!

Are collecting is something normal that normal people do. We encourage it at Marmot.

Marmot is a commercial art gallery and Spokane doesn’t have much of a history of commercial art galleries. There was one back in the 90s, but nothing since then.

Commercial galleries exist in the big cities like New York and San Francisco, but rarely in midsize cities like Spokane. In order to keep them alive you need an art buying culture and generally that’s a generational thing.

But we’ve somehow found the support here in Spokane. Thank you!
