Your Commute. Your Downtown. Your Voice.

Commute Smart Downtown is a grant-funded initiative that aims to help employers with fewer than 100 employees develop commute programs that encourage riding transit, bicycling, carpooling, STA ridesharing, or walking to work.

This community-based outreach initiative—a collaboration between the Downtown Spokane Partnership, City of Spokane, Spokane Transit, Gonzaga University, and Spokane Regional Transportation Council—is available to provide resources to DSP members.

Employers who encourage and support the use of commute options often see reduced absenteeism, higher productivity, and improved recruitment and retention. In supporting commute options, we help build a more connected, sustainable, and vibrant downtown where both businesses and employees thrive.

The Commute Smart Downtown team will help tailor a program to your company’s unique needs while improving your team’s work-life balance. We make it easy to get started by providing turn-key marketing materials, requiring less than one hour of administrative time per month.

If your business is not already enrolled in the Commute Smart NW program, your business and employees can take advantage of the following perks by joining Commute Smart Downtown:

  • 2 FREE Months of STA bus passes per employee ($120 value)
  • 2 FREE Months of STA Rideshare fares per employee ($120 value)
