Spokane summers often bring hot days and smoky skies.
Here are some of our favorite ways to stay inside and beat the heat!
SPORTS
If you’re missing the outdoor sports you usually enjoy in the summer months, Downtown Spokane has some indoor options to help you beat the cabin fever:
- Play mini-golf and Duffleboard at Flatstick Pub.
- Finish 18 holes in 1 hour in one of the 10 Trackman Bays at Swing Lounge.
- Bring up to 5 friends and practice your swing in the golf simulators at Wonderground. Or, take advantage of their pickleball courts for just $5 per person per hour (or for free if you’re a YMCA member).
- If you’re a serious Pickle-Baller, check out the Press Pickleball Club, housed in the historic former Spokesman-Review Production facility, and hang with a community of like-minded individuals who share a passion for the sport.
- Use those competitive instincts to get the high score at Gamers Arcade Bar.
ARTS
More artsy than sporty? Downtown has tons of options for you too.
- Catch a Best of Broadway show at the First Interstate Center, see the Spokane Symphony at the Fox Theater, or rock out at the Knitting Factory.
- If visual arts are more your thing, take a day to check out downtown’s many art galleries, like Terrain or the Chase Gallery, located on the lower level of Spokane’s City Hall.
FAMILY FRIENDLY
Looking for something you can do with kids?
- Let them explore and play at the Mobius Discovery Center.
- Paint a keepsake together at Polka Dot Pottery in the River Park Square Mall.
- Watch that movie they’ve been dying to see at the AMC.
