Date ideas that aren’t dinner and a movie

Dinner and a movie is a great old stand-by, but what if you want to mix it up and impress your special someone? Downtown Spokane has lots of activities to take your date night from good to great.

For the Music Lovers

Grab a drink at the District Bar, then head next door to do some good old-fashioned head banging at a concert inside the Knitting Factory.

For those who like the Scenic Route

Park your car in Riverpark Square’s garage and head up to the third floor to get a scoop of your favorite ice cream at Ben & Jerry’s. Take your cones with you on a stroll through Riverfront Park, then admire Spokane Falls from above as you and your boo snuggle up in a cabin on the Numerica SkyRide.

For the Bougie Babes

If you and your beloved are a little on the bougie side, get pedicures together at the Davenport Spa. Here’s a little insider secret: even if you’re not getting a massage/wrap service, you can still get a robe, a glass of champagne, and use of their steam room and sauna. Afterwards, go walk your soft, callus-free feet over to any of the nearby wine tasting rooms (Cougar Crest, Helix, Terra Blanca, and Tempus are all great picks) and enjoy your favorite vintage.

For the Sports Fans

You and your #1 can watch a USL Velocity FC soccer game at One Spokane Stadium, then head across the bridge to celebrate (or drown your sorrows) with a beer at O’Doherty’s Irish Grille.

For the health nuts

Go for a run through Riverfront Park or break a sweat at River City Pilates, then sip a protein smoothie at Method Juice Cafe to replenish your bod.

For the Lumberjack Lovers

Carb up with some flapjacks at Frank’s Diner, then channel your inner Paul Bunyan by throwing some axes at Jumping Jackalope Axe Throwing.
