Featuring National Speaker Peter Kageyama and 2025 Award Honors
Downtown Spokane Partnership (DSP) today announced that author and urbanist Peter Kageyama will keynote the 4th Annual State of Downtown & Awards Breakfast on Friday, May 30, 2025, from 8:00–10:30 a.m. at the Spokane Convention Center.
“We’re writing the next chapter of Downtown’s love story,” said Emilie Cameron, DSP President & CEO. “Peter’s deep passion for people-powered urban development is a perfect match for Spokane’s spirit of innovation and connection. We look forward to bringing the community together to celebrate the progress we’ve made and imagine what’s next for downtown.”
Kageyama is the acclaimed author of For the Love of Cities and a leading voice in the field of community development. His work explores how emotional engagement and grassroots energy can transform cities into places people truly love—and invest in.
The 2025 program will highlight the State of Downtown, featuring new data and insights about Spokane’s urban core, and celebrate the individuals and organizations driving progress with the presentation of the Legacy and Impact Awards.
Nominations for the 2025 Downtown Awards are open through April 30. Community members are encouraged to nominate individuals or organizations who are championing Spokane’s future. Submit a nomination at downtownspokane.org.
Nearly 400 business and community leaders, elected officials, and urban advocates are expected to attend.
