How We Can Help

Big and small, downtown staff are here to help your event grow and thrive as a resource to help you plan the next big thing. Special events can consist of block parties, parades, festivals, car shows, markets/fairs, concerts, sporting events and more.

  • Pre-Planning

What are the resources and partnerships that you need to make your idea happen? Downtown staff are at the ready to brainstorm partnership opportunities and offer historical perspective.

  • Media Relations

Located at the center of Spokane's economic development, downtown maintains positive relationships with all local media and can help you spread the word about your business or event.

Event Theming

Your celebration is our celebration. Take advantage of promotional and themeing opportunities to let the whole community know about your event.

  • Banners

You may have noticed distinctive event banners lining the streets on light poles promoting some of your favorite iconic Spokane events. Downtown Spokane manages the production, implementation and instillation of these banners. Per City Ordinance, street banners cannot be advertising, but may promote positive community celebrations.

  • Skywalk Decor

As one of only three North American cities to boast a skywalk system, these covered walkways are uniquely our own. Currently 16 skywalks cover a dozen city blocks. In the spring and winter you will notice seasonal messages highlighting all that Spokane has to offer. In collaboration with building owners, the BID assists in using these gems for promotion of community events.

  • Lighting

From red, white, and blue for Independence Day to the royal purple of the Lilac City, color adds an element of fun to any celebration. Downtown Spokane maintains lighting systems installed on the south side of the Davenport Grand Hotel and the north face of the Fox Theater. Add your color to our downtown skyline for free when you contact us regarding an event or promotion. In addition, your BID maintains eight lamps capable of projecting large images on building flat surfaces.

  • Themed Promotions

Window displays, menu specials and welcome posters all add to the ambiance of your community event. Take advantage of downtown's communication network to connect directly with local businesses.
