One month since the Downtown Spokane Partnership (DSP) expanded its cleaning services to south downtown as part of a temporary contract with the City of Spokane, the difference is already being recognized by residents, business owners and city leaders.
In the past month, the DSP Clean Team has collected 593 bags of garbage, removed 460 cardboard boxes, and cleaned 154 graffiti tags in the 40 square-block area.
“The DSP initiated this contract with the City with one goal: support cleaner and safer public spaces in downtown Spokane, and it’s making an impact,” said Emilie Cameron, President & CEO of the Downtown Spokane Partnership. “Our Clean Team is hard at work servicing the south downtown area while they continue to work 7 days a week maintaining the Downtown BID. Their work makes a visible difference and is critical in supporting a more welcoming downtown for all.”
