Following a successful season of yoga at the Tribal Gathering Place (TGP) in 2016, the Summer Series is back in 2017, and it’s bigger and better!
Thanks to the support of presenting sponsor – Numerica Credit Union – you can now get fit with four nights a week of activity at the TGP in July and August, starting July 10.
- Mondays: Barre with Pure Barre Spokane
- Tuesdays: Body Combat and/or Grit Cardio with The Spokane Club
- Wednesdays: Yoga with The Union Yoga Studio
- Thursdays: Kids Dance and Family Movement with the YMCA of the Inland Northwest
All activities kick-off at 7:15pm on the TGP, located next to City Hall at 315 N Post, and last between 45 and 60 minutes. As a special bonus, Mobius Science Center will be open late on Thursdays with $5 admission. Make Thursday a day of family fun in downtown!
Last summer an average of 150 individuals showed up each Wednesday to sweat it out on the public plaza. “The turn-out last year was just amazing,” says Downtown Spokane Partnership marketing and programming manager, Elisabeth Hooker. “The plaza overlooking Huntington Park is so beautiful it’s easy to forget you’re in the middle of downtown.”
The Summer Series is a program of the Downtown Spokane Business Improvement District with support from the City of Spokane and Spokane Riverfront Park, presented free of charge thanks to Numerica Credit Union.
“Numerica is committed to fostering well-being in our community, and that includes all aspects of living well such as financial health, physical health, family togetherness, and reducing stress” says Kelli Hawkins, Director of Communications for Numerica. “By supporting the Summer Workout Series, we’re able to do just that. Our moto is ‘Life Moves. Live Well.’ It’s the perfect fit.”
Though Numerica’s support, new offerings are able to appeal target a wider variety of participants. “I’m very excited that the YMCA is on board this year to offer something special for families,” says Hooker. “And I personally will be testing my body combat skills on Tuesdays.”
