Arts Awards Nominations due August 15

Spokane Arts announces the Spokane Arts Awards for 2016. Arts Awards recognize the accomplishments of artists, arts and cultural organizations and local individuals committed to enriching our community through the arts. The winners of the Arts Awards will be presented on November 5th at the Create Spokane Costume Ball at Washington Cracker Factory. Deadline is August 15th for nominations. 

The four awards categories reflect the values of Spokane Arts: Leadership, Collaboration, Imagination and Inclusion.  

In any of these categories, you may nominate an artist, volunteer, neighborhood, educator, organization, community leader, donor, business or any other entity which you feel deserves recognition.  Emerging or established, young or old, on the edge or in the center – we welcome any nomination that celebrates the wealth of participation in Spokane’s arts ecosystem.

Fall Art Tour Deadline August 15

Now is the time to prepare for the Fall Art Tour (previously called Visual Arts Tour) —Friday, October 7 – Sunday, October 9, 2016.   The Tour is from 5:00-9:00 p.m. on Friday. With so much to see, Saturday and Sunday hours are encouraged. 

We invite participation from all local galleries in any Spokane neighborhood —non-profit and for-profit—and we encourage open studios, alternative spaces and business participation in the Fall Arts Tour. Arts Month Activities Deadline August 15

Spokane Arts is currently coordinating the third annual Create Spokane Arts Month for October 2016. Artists, arts organizations, arts businesses, creatives and instigators of all stripes are encouraged to submit their events or community partner listings for the month of October through www.submittable.com. All events and/or listings will be included in our promotional materials on the web and through social media, sponsored media and other earned media under the umbrella of Create Spokane.  Deadline for submissions is August 15.

Other arts events scheduled to take place during the Create Spokane Arts Month include the Spokane Arts Awards and Art Tour 2016.  The Create Spokane Costume Ball will take place on Saturday, November 5th at the Washington Cracker Building.   More details will be released about Create Spokane arts events at www.spokanearts.org.

All Create Spokane Arts Month activities should occur between October 1st – October 31st, 2016. Events should take place in the Spokane area and be open to the public.  If you promote or create arts events, please complete the information requested and help us make Create Spokane a robust month-long showcase of Spokane’s arts vitality.
