Her name is PATTI WARASHINA.
She just won the SMITHSONIAN VISIONARY ARTIST AWARD.
She’s known as the “QUEEN OF NORTHWEST CERAMICS”.
She was born and raised in Spokane – but she hasn’t been back in years. We’re bringing her back!
Aaand we will be celebrating the fact that we found a permanent place for that incredible, huge bronze piece that has been the featured in the center of Marmot for years.
SPOKANE CDA LIVING MAGAZINE did a huge feature article on Patti the last time we bought her to Spokane. ART CHOWDER featured her on its cover and gave her an eight page spread to go along with it. Both of those publications no longer exist but we’ve reached out to the ones that still do – the SPOKESMAN-REVIEW and the INLANDER and we’re crossing our fingers hoping that they also value this.
We also strongly suggest that you purchase one or both of Patti’s books prior to coming to First Friday. This is an excellent way to get to know Patti and her 55+ years creating jaw-dropping art.
