Get Ready for the Spokane Arts Mural Rally: A Month of Vibrant Transformations!
Spokane, WA – Spokane Arts is thrilled to announce the Spokane Arts Mural Rally, a dynamic public art project set to breathe new life into downtown Spokane! After a long hiatus due to the pandemic, we are making up for lost time by installing not just one, but seven brand-new murals in the heart of the city.
Starting this September, seven BNSF walls in downtown Spokane will be transformed into vibrant canvases by eight incredibly talented local artists: Sarah Sinclair, Kaitlyn Kelm, Lisa Soranaka, Mariah Boyle, Joseph Chan, Yelena Yunin, Desmond Boston, and Willow Tree. Each mural has been carefully designed and approved by Spokane Arts and the Arts Commission, ensuring a diverse and exciting range of styles and themes.
These public art pieces will be located along BNSF retaining walls and underpasses, turning everyday spaces into dynamic works of art. As the month progresses, watch as these walls come alive with color, creativity, and community spirit.
The Spokane Arts Mural Rally is more than just a series of murals; it’s a celebration of our city’s resilience, creativity, and the power of art to unite us all. Whether you’re a long-time resident or just passing through, make sure to take a stroll downtown and witness the transformation.
