Shop Small at Small Business Saturday November 25 in downtown Spokane. The DSP is proud to rally community support and invite you to patron local businesses that day and throughout the holiday season.
“We have a wide variety of local retailers in downtown and we are excited to bring them greater exposure,” says Mark Richard, President for the Downtown Spokane Partnership. “We are constantly looking for ways to help our existing businesses grow.”
The DSP will be offering free parking both curbside and through Riverpark Square that Saturday, starting at 10 AM. To take advantage, shoppers will be able to get parking access codes to be used through the City’s Passport Parking App or via Easy Park passes directly received from the businesses where they plan to shop. Free parking will be on a first come, first serve basis.
DSP staff will also be on-hand at Auntie’s Bookstore from 10 AM to 1 PM that day with free Shop Small shopping bags, doggie bandanas and other swag for downtown customers.
America Express presents Small Business Saturday, a shopping holiday held on the Saturday after Thanksgiving during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year. First observed in the United States on November 27, 2010, it is a counterpart to Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Small Business Saturday encourages holiday shoppers to patronize brick and mortar businesses that are small and local.
“If you have not been shopping downtown lately, we would urge you to visit. We are extremely proud of downtown Spokane. We have over 120 local retailers, 89 restaurants, and 17 wineries and breweries. Downtown Spokane is vibrant, accessible, inviting and affordable,” says Richard.
