Join ben at Barrister Winery for October First Friday exhibition! ben joyce has been a successful artist in Spokane, Washington, for nearly 20 years. Ben realized in painting from a birds-eye vantage point, it would encourage the viewer to connect to the piece on a personal level, and experience a personal odyssey through each piece.

Like the places he captures, the pieces are moving, pulsing, ever changing. The shaped edges and cut outs break up the traditional hard lines of a square canvas that confine the experience, allowing the viewer to expand the painting beyond its borders with their knowledge of the area.
Ben says it best with this quote;

“I believe that every individual has the greatest connection to their place that has ever been. We can study histories and details of a certain location but there’s no one that will ever experience their connection to place greater than each individual can.”
