    30 Minutes with: Chris Seim

    The Downtown Spokane Partnership is proud to present “30 Minutes With:”, a recurring series of virtual, 30-minute question and answer sessions with local industry experts on the most pressing topics of the day. Sessions are hosted on Zoom, and free to attend.

    Featured will be Chris Seim, member of DSP's Ambassador team. Chris will be discussing Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED) and how DSP supports its principles. CPTED is a multi-disciplinary approach of crime prevention that uses urban and architectural design and the management of built and natural environments. Its strategies aim to reduce victimization, deter offender decisions that precede criminal acts, and build a sense of community among inhabitants so they can gain territorial control of areas, reduce crime, and minimize fear of crime.

    Cupid Alexander, Division Director of Neighborhoods, Housing & Human Services for the City of Spokane, discusses navigating Spokane’s future, including economic activations aimed at making a more inclusive and vibrant downtown neighborhood.

    The Downtown Spokane Partnership is proud to present “30 Minutes With:”, a recurring series of virtual, 30-minute question and answer sessions with local industry experts on the most pressing topics of the day. Sessions are hosted on Zoom, and free to attend.

    Featured will be Alex Gibilisco, City Council Manager of Equity and Inclusion Activities. Alex will discuss how our city can implement policies that emphasize equity, an "umbrella" that includes gender, disability, and more, with the goal of removing barriers so people can be fully themselves. This will include topics of equitable hiring processes for businesses, and other actionable approaches our community can take to make downtown, and Spokane at large, an inclusive and vibrant place to live.

    30 Minutes with: The Downtown Plan

    The Downtown Spokane Partnership is proud to present “30 Minutes With:”, a recurring series of virtual, 30-minute question and answer sessions with local industry experts on the most pressing topics of the day. Sessions are hosted on Zoom, and free to attend.

    Andrew Rolwes, Downtown Spokane Partnership's VP of Public Policy & Parking, and Nathan Gwinn, Assistant Planner with the City of Spokane, will discuss the details of the latest draft of the Downtown Plan. The last plan was adopted in 2008 and the new plan will address the next 10 years. The effort will join the community’s vision to guide development, design, and regulatory recommendations for the future with major new efforts like the Central City Line.

    On April 8 the Downtown Spokane Partnership will host another episode in its series of virtual, 30-minute question and answer sessions with local industry experts on the most pressing topics of the day. Sessions will be hosted on Zoom, and free to attend.

    Featured from the City of Spokane will be Carly Cortright, Director of Community Programs, joined by Cendy Pfortmiller, Community Engagement Program Manager. Together they will discuss changes in event planning that have been made or are being proposed over the last year in response to the pandemic, and what the Spokane community can expect moving forward.
