Each year on the last weekend in July, downtown is taken over by a quarter of a million people for the World's Largest Three of Three Basketball Tournament. Hoopfest is something to look forward to all year long, and coming downtown to participate, or just observe the special events, is exciting.

Here's your news for getting around downtown

Street closures

  • The tournament has grown to 42 downtown city blocks this year.
  • Post is closed north of Spokane Falls Blvd. on Thursday, June 25 at midnight.
  • By Friday June 26, several sections of downtown parking meters will be bagged ahead of Hoopfest. Check out this Hoopfest Event Map for more information (Sections with bagged meters are marked in red). Meter bags effect until 6pm when streets are closed. Streets will re-open Sunday, June 28 at 8pm. Do not park at meter bags or you will be towed.

Parking

  • Hoopfest attendees should be mindful of where you are parking.  For all street closures click on Hoopfest (above) for the official Century Link map.
  • To see the list of general downtown lots, visit our downtown "Where to Park" page.
  • SPOKANE – Spokane Transit will provide Hoopfest Shuttle Service this weekend from two free parking areas; the Jefferson Park & Ride lot and the Riverpoint Campus parking lots. Shuttles run every 10 minutes from 6AM to 8PM on Saturday, June 27, and from 7AM to 6PM on Sunday, June 28. The fare for an all-day pass is $1.50 and can be used for unlimited rides on the shuttles and all STA bus routes. Passes are available for purchase on any bus during the Hoopfest weekend. Please have the exact fare because drivers are unable to make change. Visit this link for driving directions to STA shuttle pick-up sites at the free parking lots.

Public transportation

  • The STA Plaza is closed to bus traffic during Hoopfest weekend. Alternate loading zones for regular routes will be in effect beginning Friday at 6:30PM. A map of the alternative zones can be viewed here.
  • Uber is Hoopfest’s newest transportation partner. Get your first ride of up to $15 value free with your new user promo code and referral payment. $10 goes back to Hoopfest for each new rider. Already have an Uber account? Use the existing user promo code and Uber will donate $1 back to Hoopfest for each ride throughout the weekend. New User Promo Code: HOOPS15. Existing User Promo Code: HOOPFEST2015.
