Join us in downtown Spokane for First Friday. This month 28 venues are participating in the first art walk of the new year featuring live music, tastings and visual art. Most venues open from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. For a full list of activities and artists visit www.firstfridayspokane.org.

The January featured First Friday poster artist is Ryker Murdock with his piece “Maiden Voyage,” a collectible poster can be picked up at the Downtown Spokane Library during First Friday.  Murdock was born and raised in Southeast Idaho on a Ranch outside of Blackfoot. Growing up he was surrounded by vast landscapes of desert, mountain and farmland, which probably contributed to the type of art he prefers to create. He has been the artsy type his whole life, only recently moving to Acrylics as a primary medium.

About First Friday

Downtown First Friday launched in November of 2003 in conjunction with the Spokane Arts Commission. Today, over 50 downtown venues participate each month to bring visitors to downtown, and promote arts patronage in our region. First Friday always occurs on the First Friday of the month with the exception of February and October, when First Friday and the Visual Arts Tour merge to become a city-wide arts tour presented by Spokane Arts.
